traffic at the olympiades

The evacuation of the 30,000 people who, on March 27, attended the France-Wales team match at the Colombes stadium, presented quite serious difficulties.

The police chief explains how a general traffic plan was prepared and how all the lanes which “had to be provided”, and which surround the stadium, are still obstructed by rails and trees. So that of the four main roads which must serve the stadium, there is only one, the narrowest, which is open to the public. Mr. Naudin adds that all the major arteries arriving from Paris, particularly after Courbevoie, are currently blocked, that it is through successive detours, and very variable, that one can reach the stadium and that it is impossible to establish for the moment a normal circulation current.

Will these difficulties disappear? Mr. Naudin hopes and wishes so. The prefect does not hide, moreover, that the situation is made difficult especially by the very position of the stadium. However, "if the conditions that the administration has imposed are fulfilled in due time, it will take responsibility for doing the best."

Finally, the prefect of the Seine completes the explanations provided by his colleague. It provides information on the execution of a development program. He concluded by asking the assembly “not to judge the insufficiency of preparation two months in advance”. The administration does not lose sight of the considerable task it must accomplish to organize traffic in Colombes, and Mr. Juillard is convinced of achieving appreciable and overall satisfactory results, despite the bad terrain on which he "It's about arranging and situating a stadium which obviously does not lend itself well to such a considerable crowd as that which will be brought by the Olympic Games."

This seems to us to be a preemptive apology.
