The artistic riches of the Hospices de Lyon

During its last meeting, the Literary, Historical and Archaeological Society of Lyon expressed a wish in favor of the classification among historical monuments of the most interesting parts (chapel, pharmacy, archives room) of the threatened Hospice de la Charité demolition. Two years ago, the Journal des Débats devoted a documented study to the artistic riches of Charité.

In the past, the initiative of Edouard Aynard saved the cloister, the chapel, the domes and the facade of the old Hôtel-Dieu in Lyon from destruction. Let us hope that Charity finds such energetic and happy defenders. - M.B.
