subscription to the Olympic games I have a fairly wealthy friend, who told me: I received a letter from the National Subscription Initiative Committee for Olympic Preparation, which asks me for money, in order to contribute to the good organization of the immense international competition. Although I would have preferred to have been asked for money a few months ago, in order to contribute to the training of our athletes, I nevertheless sent my share. And the next day, I regretted it. Because, the next day, I received the price of the tickets, and I recoiled in horror. Not to mention rugby, nor the association, nor cycling, nor quite a few other sports, simply, if I want to attend the athletics, tennis, boxing and swimming events, for example, well , I won't get away with less than 1,100 francs! Certainly, I will be well placed, and still not in the front rows. So I won't take out a subscription; it's too expensive. I'll just go to the finals. And I believe that many people will do like me. So the qualifiers will be unfortunately deserted. It therefore seems to me that the cost of these subscription books is a big blunder. I could only agree with my friend. But if rich guys like him give up, what will poor guys like you and me do? A simple calculation again the guy from the stands who wants to treat himself to the same spectacle that my friend will have to pay 425 francs. And to be very badly placed! It is true that he would not have let himself be asked for money... Serge Vebar. |
