The Breton costume
It will make its appearance in the Chamber, worn by Mr Cadic, a new deputy from Morbihan. This newly elected member, faithful to the traditions of his country, will be wearing the costume of the Pontivy region. It consists of a waistcoat and a small jacket of white cloth decorated with red or black silk embroidery. These waistcoats have given the farmers around Pontivy the nickname of 'White Sheep'. Mr Cadic is the nephew of Abbé François Cadic, director of the Breton parish in Paris.
