In honour of American soldiers

Yesterday, on the Quai de la Bourse in Rouen, the American committee formed in Cleveland (Ohio) inaugurated a commemorative bronze plaque on the right-hand side of the façade of the Palais des Consuls, commemorating the arrival in Rouen of the first detachment of the United States army to take part in the war against Germany". The event took place in front of the palace, which was decked out in French and American colours.
Speeches were made.
The ceremony, which was preceded by a lunch, was followed by a walk along the Seine.
