Furthermore, the same police officers placed at the disposal of the Guéret prosecutor's office the day laborer Raymond Lemaigre, wanted for various offenses and who was found at 82, rue Claude-Decaen.

Two sisters at the depot
Odette Remoge, thirteen years old, had robbed the people who had successively employed her as a servant: Mrs. Levy, concierge, boulevard Voltaire, and Mrs. Gotte, pastry chef, rue Sedaine.
Brought before Mr. Poggi, Commissioner of La Roquette, the little girl confessed to having acted at the instigation of her older sister Georgette, aged eighteen, living in a furnished apartment, rue de Romainville. The two sisters are in the depot.

A smoker's imprudence causes an explosion in a sewer
Having lit his cigarette, a passer-by, Mr. Emmanuel Rabbe, 22, rue Fauvet, threw the match into a sewer mouth, avenue de Saint-Ouen, at the corner of la Fourche. But he had not taken the precaution of putting it out. And a leak existing in the gas pipe, a violent explosion, occurred. The sewer cover flew into pieces and Mr. Rabbe was seriously burned at the two Janches.

The storekeeper was stocking up
Mr. Vialardini, a merchant, 7, rue Nouvelle, had recently noticed that his stock of socks was decreasing; however, his revenue was not increasing in proportion. So he was being robbed. To make sure, he placed cards on each shelf indicating the quantity of goods placed there. Two days later, Mr. Vialardini noticed that these indications had been scratched. Surveillance was established; it allowed the culprit, Philippe Griollot, aged thirty, 8, rue Darcet, whom the merchant had employed for two years, to be caught. The amount of Griollot's thefts amounts to 130,000 francs.

The jewels had been stolen
Recently, Mrs Renobel, a hotelier, rue de Montreuil, lent 200 francs to an individual she only knew by sight and who gave her as security some jewels worth 3,000 francs.
Inspectors Lelièvre and Lesauce, having heard of the affair, noted that these were jewels stolen on 5 September from Mr Septler's home, rue des Vignolles.
Their investigation led them to a hotel on the Cours de Vincennes where a man named Muller was staying, whom they questioned. They soon established that he had stolen the papers he was carrying from Mr. Muller, residing on rue Alexandre-Dumas, and that he was the perpetrator of the theft committed at Mr. Septier's. Before Mr. Gauthier, the police commissioner of Sainte-Marguerite, the man admitted that his name was Désiré Jager, twenty-one years old, with no defined profession. He tried to deny the theft in rue des Vignolles, but was caught by Mr. Septier, because he was wearing one of the trousers stolen from him.

An international association
Numerous thefts had been committed for some time in a belt factory on boulevard Voltaire. Surveillance was carried out by inspectors Dheilly and Marceau.
