In Carros, the inauguration of "L'Oustaù dei Carrousencs" took place on the 10th of this month.

Around 3 o'clock, a procession left the villa of Doctor Barbary and headed, preceded by music and the municipal flag, towards the Maison des Carrossois. The Mayor had at his side: Mrs. Barbary, Mr. Basset, sub-prefect of Grasse; Mr. Humbert Ricolfi, deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes, general councilor of the canton of Vence; Doctor Olivier, district councilor; Mr. André Capron, mayor of Cannes; Father Guillon, priest of Carros; Father Revel; Mr. Louis Vaquette, deputy; MM. Joseph Véran, Louis Briquet, Basile Vaquette, Marius Verola, Joseph Guizol, Antoine Gastaud, Donat Vaquette, municipal councilors; Mr. Auguste Maurel, president of the local festival with his comrades of the Committee.

On the threshold of the house, several speeches were made by Mr. L. Vaquette, deputy; Mr. Gastaud, president of the Agricultural Union, etc.

All the speakers highlighted the work accomplished by Doctor Barbary for the good of Carros, and thanked him for his benevolent generosity. In his turn, the sub-prefect of Grasse declared himself touched by the feelings expressed by the population of Carros towards Doctor Barbary, admirable organizer of a model village.

Mr. H. Ricolfi first fulfilled, in his dual capacity as deputy and general councilor of the canton, his duty of courtesy by greeting the sub-prefect, the district councilor and the mayor of Cannes; then, inspired by the motto "Oustaù dei Carroussencs", he happily improvised an eloquent speech on these three words on which national greatness and happiness must be built. Finally, interrupted by applause, he paid a delicate tribute to the tireless dedication and the very effective generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Barbary.

The mayor of Carros, very moved, expressed all the joy that his wife and he felt in making their friends of Carros benefit from their experience of life and practical scientific methods. He thanked his collaborators for their daily help, praised the practitioners who worked at home and, appreciating at their price the honor that the officials did to Carros by having accepted his invitation to this party, he underlined the intervention of Mr. Ricolfi in the electric lighting of the village. In closing, Doctor Barbary assured his administrators of all his dedication.

The "Oustaù dei Carroussencs" includes: a circle, a library, a spacious room reserved for the Agricultural Union, another room for the use of the boy scouts and, finally, a perfect installation of free baths and showers! On the front door, three words in the spotlight: Peace, Union, Work.
