A PAINTER FROM MARSEILLES

Mr. Louis de Lombardon, a young painter of great talent, recently exhibited in the window of Messerer, rue Saint-Ferréol, a magnificent painting that attracted the attention not only of connoisseurs, but of the crowd that never ceases to circulate in our elegant street, and that is seduced by beauty. It was interesting to hear the reflections. The canvas represents an unloading of oranges at the Quai du Port.
We could eat them, said the young girls who crowded in front of the beautiful work.
This woman, it seems as if she were talking. The amateurs were ecstatic before the movement, the life, that burst forth in the frame.
It is beautiful work, affirmed one of our great painters with a buttonhole reddened with a rosette. Lombardon is a true artist.

It did not last long, the canvas, in rue Saint-Ferréol. Very quickly, it was bought by one of our fellow citizens who placed it in a good place in his rich collection.
