Three Soviet Executioners Carry Out Mass Executions in Batum

LONDON, September 24. According to the Chicago Tribune correspondent in Trebizond, the Cheka has begun a Red Terror throughout Georgia in retaliation for the recent uprising. Three of its most notorious executioners, Peters, the sailor Pankratoff and the Chinese Liazet, have arrived in Batum with unlimited powers. Already blood is flowing in torrents. Mass killings and executions are taking place.

The governor of Kars, Ibrahim Edham Bey, and the commander of the 9th Turkish Army Corps, have reported to Angora that Georgian Mohammedans living in Turkey have written that their coreligionists in Georgia are being massacred by the Bolsheviks. They are imploring the government to intervene on their behalf.

Turkey Concentrates Troops

CONSTANTINOPLE, September 24. Due to the decision taken by the Angora government to maintain neutrality towards the revolutionaries, the Turkish General Staff has begun to concentrate troops on the Russian border to prevent the passage of revolutionaries and munitions from Turkish territory into Georgian territory.
