ARTIST'S HOLIDAY

It is in Volx, a picturesque village in the Durance Valley, that Mr. Emile Richaud rests from his artistic season. Here he is, forgetful of the Manons, the Violettas, the Carmens and the Charlottes, enjoying the charms of a quiet life.
He welcomes us with his usual affability and obligingly answers our curious questions.

Brilliant, dear sir, this last season of Indochina?
Brilliant, may I say so? Happy, no doubt, if I judge by the faithful attendance of an always select public.
And what are your plans for the next season?
To return there again; my promise is given and I would not want for anything in the world to disappoint such a pleasant expectation.

The artist tells us at length about the season of which he has kept such a happy memory; his warm and penetrating voice comes alive as he evokes these countries of the Orient which knew how to welcome and charm him.

Mr. Richaud has just signed the engagement for Hanoi where he will perform the best works of the repertoire of comic operas and translations.
The season will begin with "Thaïs et Louise" and will also include two creations that we will talk about again in due course.

We recall that "L'Eclaireur du Dimanche" has many times highlighted the great successes won by our fellow citizen Mr. Richaud, whom we hope to applaud in Nice, at the Opera, before it is long.
