A PHENOMENAL VINE In the market gardening country, in the commune of Sallertaine (district of Les Sables), there is a phenomenal vine which, planted 16 years ago, is now 220 metres long. Approximately, taking this dimension into account, the phenomenal vine would produce eight thousand grapes in 1924 and 4 barrels of wine, half as much as last year. Many are the visitors of this "ace" of the vine. The happy owner is the honorable Mr. Charles Rivallin, a farmer in the town of Sallertaine, who deserves compliments. |
