Robbers of 700 French Soldiers During the War Metz, November 29. In 1919, an investigation was opened into the actions of several residents of Fonteny, near Delme, accused of having robbed French soldiers killed in 1914 during the Battle of Morhange. But this investigation was closed without results. Following new details, the judicial investigation was resumed. It resulted in the indictment of several residents, whose names have not yet been disclosed, but who admitted to having robbed, on August 20, 1914, seven hundred dead or wounded French soldiers. |
