MONCHEUX A deplorable automobile accident. On Tuesday, November 18, around noon, the carter Pecker Pierre, 65 years old, in the service of Mr. Lelong, merchant in Moncheux, was returning from the Liocourt station with a cart loaded with wine and was walking alongside his horses, when he was suddenly hit by a truck from the Pechelbronn mines which was arriving from Sarrebourg and heading towards Thionville. The unfortunate worker had his spine broken and received a gaping wound to the head; he was dragged for a distance of a few meters. When the driver of the truck was able to stop his vehicle, Becker had ceased to live, The Lelong house loses in Becker a model worker, who had been in its service for many years. Everyone appreciated him as an excellent worker, good and helpful, with great manual skill The entire population takes a keen part in the mourning that strikes the Becker family, to whom we offer our sincere condolences. The gendarmerie has opened an investigation that will establish responsibilities.
