ARLES.
The Camargue owners and the Arlesian hunters met to protest against the project to establish an aerial shooting range on the Vaccarès. Mr. Morizot, mayor, presided. "I am convinced," he said, "that this project will not be realized, and, if the danger persists, we will continue to obstruct it, because we do not want the tranquility of our Camargue to be disturbed by the din of bombs and especially its wealth compromised." The following agenda a. was voted: "The owners of the Camargue and the hunters of Arles, gathered at the town hall of Arles, without even invoking the interests, however very legitimate, of a large number of hunters and fishermen who would find themselves harmed by the execution of the project to establish an aerial shooting range on the Vaccarès pond, protest energetically against such a project and give a mandate to all the representatives of the Arles region to oppose its execution.
