THE WAR IN MOROCCOLOeuvre 1925 05 31 War in Morroco
The Tribes Are Weary of Fighting

Fez, May 30. The western and central sectors are calm. The Beni Zerouals and the Beni Ouriagels are reportedly weary of fighting. Numerous arrests have been made among these tribes by Abdel-Krim, who threatens them with reprisals if they defect. Reinforcements of 400 Riffians have arrived among the Beni Zerouals. Shots were fired in Tafrant.

Water collection operations at the Bab Miza and Aïn Maatouf posts were attacked yesterday by dissidents.
Detachments from the Freydenberg group have been traveling through the region northeast of Gara des Mezziat.
In the eastern sector, the situation is tense. Groups of Riffians from Upper Ouergha arrived in front of Kiffane, where enemy forces reportedly numbered 3,000 men. Musketeers were fired against our camp at Bab Seraouah el Hassi Oudlam and Hassi Ouenzgha.
Our partisans destroyed the Riffian telephone line from Tizortine to Chaouia (15 kilometers north of Kiffane) over a considerable distance.

Expulsions of Communists
