The frogs of the fable

Illogic and inconstancy are the characteristics of many people and... Versaillais. He who wants white, when he has obtained it, demands black with great fanfare. But if this fault has nothing in itself that can surprise us, at least it is very regrettable that some "who do not know what they want" use their influence to drag the city into expenses that they render useless after having fiercely demanded them.
Some time ago already, the public opinion of our city (understand a handful of yellers and 3 or 4 press articles) obtained by means of delegations, shouting and threats the expensive transformation of the Théâtre des Variétés. A "hall of festivals" was needed for our societies.
In no hurry to waste public money on the restoration of a place that seems to have definitively lost the public's favor, our municipality, after having been dragged by the ear, nevertheless complied, but reluctantly, under the pressure of a "campaign" which (under penalty of being classified among the most retrograde of diplodocuses) it would not have been good to resist. It cost a few hundred thousand francs. And when the room was finished, our "never satisfied" realized that "it's big", that "it's cold", that "it's far away". It's up to those who don't want this old beauty plastered over and those most ardent in ordering its costly rejuvenation turn their backs on it at the time of balls and banquets.

Better still! Unaware of their monstrous incoherence, instead of drinking the bad wine that they forced upon us, the "hall of festivals" lovers are still demanding. Do you know what they want now? Oh! No, I'll give you a thousand guesses... the construction of a new "hall of festivals" quite simply!!!
And these are the people who claim to soon manage the affairs of the City. Taxpayers, to your pockets!
