The most intelligent race : a stupidityThe Most Intelligent Race

Modern ethnologists certainly offer an amusing spectacle when, with a single skull, two shinbones, and a pot of ochre to daub a map, they claim to demonstrate that the inhabitants of Ireland, part of England, Italy, Egypt, and Morocco all belong to a type of humanity very devoid of intelligence.

The palm, however, must be awarded to that genius of Princeton University who, thanks to some complicated test, has just discovered that a Dutchman is much more intelligent than an Austrian and that a Turk is more intelligent than an Italian. In the list of honors, the Italians only come in at number 16. One is rather surprised when one considers that for two centuries Italy has had the honor of giving the world more intellectual and artistic giants than the rest of the world.

But, doubtless, there is some gross error in this assertion, and thus Princeton University would establish the nationality of the following great men: Leonardo da Vinci, the most intelligent man the world has ever produced, was a Turk; Michelangelo was a Swede; Christopher Columbus, born in Porktown, set out from New York to discover Genoa; Dante was a Little Russian; Virgil a Dutchman, and Bonaparte a Walloon.
