Oil in Canada
MONTREAL, January 31. - Canada, within a few years, will have an annual oil production of at least 100,000,000 barrels and will rank among the leading oil producing countries in the world. Mr. P. Chester Thompson, geologist and one of the initiators of the development of the early oil fields of Colombia and Venezuela and the Island of Madagascar, is of opinion that this production will be largely supplied by the territory of southern Alberta, which will eventually prove to be one of the richest oil fields in the world. Mr. Thompson recently completed an inspection of southern Alberta, which he made in company with several engineers and which lasted two years. The expedition was so impressed with the richness of the geological formations in this part of the province that Mr. Thompson has undertaken the task of establishing his fourth oil company there.
