U.S. Navy Guns Not Far Enough
Washington, 17. During the Senate debate on the U.S. Navy budget, Senator Kellar said that Britain had gained an advantage over the American delegates at the Washington Conference. He added that the guns of only five American warships had a range as long as those of almost all the British ships. "At present the British Navy, while keeping out of range of the American units, could sink them. Britain has us by the throat. Japan and France have increased the range of their guns since the signing of the agreement."
