Russian oil in France

Russian Oils in France

The Naphtha Syndicate of the Soviet Union has just signed a contract with a powerful group of importers headed by the French Petrofina Company, composed exclusively of French firms long established on the market, by which it assigns to this group the sale, for two years, of Russian gasolines and oils in France.
This contract has been ratified by the commercial representation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
However, the Naphtha Syndicate of the Union has reserved the right to sell Russian oils of all categories directly to the French government.
The current contract covers, annually, approximately 80,000 tons of gasolines and 40,000 tons of oils, which represents a relatively high percentage of French consumption and a value of approximately two hundred million francs per year.
Let us recall that the Belgian company, which also bears the name Petrofina, has already purchased Russian petrol and oils to sell them in Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg.
