Mount Wilson is a peak that rises near Los Angeles, California. At its summit, 1,765 meters, the United States government has built an observatory to which a winding road leads, which measures 15 kilometers with an average gradient of 10 0/0, going up to 16 0/0 and 144 very short and very dangerous turns. It is the hardest hill in the United States and its record was 26 minutes 56 seconds set by a special racing car, when Ralph de Palma decided to beat it not with a racing car, but with a production car. He succeeded completely and lowered it by more than a minute with a Chrysler Six, taken at random from the stock of the Los Angeles agent. A car exactly like the one that accomplished this extraordinary feat can be seen in Saint-Didier. But don't try it, you would buy it.
