If the “professors” in occult sciences only had me as clients, they could therefore dispense with spreading their tempting leaflets: Thanks to my gift as a clairvoyant and my sciences of astrology, graphology and cartomancy, I will reveal your past to you, explain your present to you just as if I had always lived with you, which proves that I can reveal to you your future, which you need to know so as not to go off track on the path of life. Ah! if they were sure of being re-elected, how they would make fun of all this, and with what enthusiasm they would place their blue ballots, or their white ballots, in the ballot box... And this is why, before voting, as they cannot question, you know, and for good reason, neither their conscience, nor their convictions, I imagine, and this is the only explanation of so many surprising inconsistency and incredible uncertainty, I imagine that they will first consult the sleepwalker.
