New executions without trial

The representatives of the Social-Democratic Workers' Party of Georgia communicate to us the telegram below which they have just received from Constantinople.

On May 23, on charges of preparing an insurrection, the Zakcheka (Cheka of Transcaucasia) shot without trial 15 officers of the national army, including Generals Alexander Andronikashvili, Varden Tsouloukidze, Constantin Abkhazi and Rôstom Muskhelichvili and Colonels Georges Khimchiachvili, Dimitri Tchedileli, Elizbar Goulissachvili and Alexandre Matchavariani. Nicolas Kartsivadze, socialist known under-secretary of state for war in the same national government and others, are in preparation. At the beginning of May, 80 political detainees, several of them seriously ill, were deported to northern Russia. On May 26, the anniversary of Georgia's proclamation of independence, more than 800 people were arrested.
