The nationalist movement in Bavaria
von Kahr's attitude

Berlin, September 29.
Information from Bavaria shows that the nationalist and monarchist spirit continues to dominate in the country. Mr. Von Kahr, who is one of the leaders of this movement, naturally enjoys a certain influence on reactionary circles, and, from this point of view, his choice as state commissioner for the maintenance of order has been happy; but he cannot deviate from a partiality in the execution of his new functions in favor of elements who are animated by the same feelings as him.
He authorized for next Saturday and Sunday the holding of nationalist meetings where Hitler will speak, and a regimental party where ex-Kronprinz Ruprecht is to give a speech; but he banned, not only the congress of the Workers' Exploitation Councils, but also the celebrations organized for next Sunday by the Republican League, under the pretext that, in the first meetings, there would be no question of politics, while in the latter the aim was obviously political.
Accused in the press of preparing for the near future the proclamation of a monarchy in Bavaria, he published a sort of denial, in which, after having made a profession of royalist faith, he only added that he did not have the time to deal with all the press accusations relating to these facts and statements which have nothing to do with his duty as state commissioner. An appeal from the German National Party
Berlin, September 29. The German National Party addresses the following appeal to the people:
“People, be ready! The day is not far off when all international pacifist illusions will collapse under the power of facts, then the hour will strike for the national government which, come what may, will persevere on the path of salvation for Germany. »
In the rest of this document, German nationals attack the current government coalition "which has delivered German interests to the enemy"; and call the Stresemann cabinet, the government of capitulation. They declare, moreover, that they will never accept new extermination treaties. (radio)
