The main line connection The project to connect major networks in Paris via underground lines may seem a little forgotten, because we rarely talk about it anymore. But these are only misleading appearances, and the Compagnie du Métropolitain, by building its new line which will extend line 7 via the platforms and then cross the fifth arrondissement, is obliged to respect the land previously granted for the construction of the project. In fact, the connection lines will be adjacent between Place Mazas and Place du Châtelet with the new metropolitan line, and this will make a slight bend at the height of the Town Hall to leave room for others who have a right over it. priority. The lines which will connect our main stations will be thus established: a cluster of three lines which will leave, one from the Austerlitz station, the other from the Lyon station and the third from the Bastille station, will end at Place Mazas from where the various trains will then follow the same line which will pass through the platforms, Place du Châtelet, Boulevard de Sébastopol, Boulevard de Strasbourg and will end with a loop having on its right side the Gare de l'Est and on your left side the Gare du Nord. As for the Saint-Lazare station line, nothing is yet fixed. R. B. |
