Speeding
We know that when a motorist receives a ticket, it is a game for him to get it lifted. Who doesn't know a deputy, an advisor or even an official from the Prefecture... In England, it is different. Whoever breaks the law must suffer the punishment, regardless of the quality of the offender. This is how the Duke of York's driver was recently convicted of speeding, and this is how, just yesterday, Admiral Sydney Fremautle, Governor of Portsmouth, was fined two pounds by the judges of this city, for going 40 miles an hour on South Sea Avenue. All the complainant's protests did nothing. 40 kilometers per hour being a prohibited speed on the streets, the admiral governor had to pay the fine. There are still judges in England!
