| This is the little corner of the world because of which peace between Italy and Serbia seems compromised. It will be noted that Port-Baros, which belongs to the Yugoslavs, is only an extension of the port of Fiume, which belongs to the independent state. The border begins in the very suburbs of the city, where populations of Italian or Croatian origin have coexisted for centuries, irreconcilably. A few kilometers west of Fiume, the Italian border passes, which, a few kilometers to the north, becomes the common border between Italy and Yugoslavia. |
