New York, June 7. — Word from Dayton, Ohio, that the large military airship T.C.I. the largest airship in the United States, was destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon during a heavy thunderstorm.

The airship was moored to a steel tower in Wilbur Wright Aviation Camp, where it had been sheltered, after making a test flight. It is assumed that the wind pushed the airship against another steel tower, which caused electrical contact and caused the gas to explode.
