The bignole is a concierge and as such she is interested in the events that affect her and make her react on a daily basis. These are not necessarily the facts that make headlines across all media outlets, and are hard to ignore. Rather articles or briefs which relate facts which can reveal changes, sometimes barely perceptible in our society, destined to become lasting, unfortunately for some.

The news from June 6, 2022 (for example) is enriched with those published on June 6, 1922. It seemed interesting to us to compare these two periods which do not lack analogies.

They are both election years, although in 1922 voters did not vote for the Legislatives.

France was approached to organize the 1924 Olympic Games, which at the time, as today, had a strong influence on the development of the capital. Like today, the term "Grand Paris" is used in the newspapers...

We were surprised by the speeches of the politicians of the time, speeches which do not lack similarities with those of many political figures of today. The comments made about it in the press of the time, which was not in competition, and for good reason, with the audio-visual press then non-existent, were more incisive than today...and did not lack humor.

Ecology, a word that does not yet exist, plays an important role, and “renewable energy” is already appearing. We must leave the Earth in good condition to future generations. There are many warnings about the dangers of consuming fossil fuels without restraint, with the risk of no longer having them in the following decades...

The newspapers also talk about rurality, about the SNCF, which is not yet called that, and already has a tendency to abandon rural areas...

In our time where everything is formatted, where everyone is formatted without always realizing it, where one piece of information chases the other, where the future seems very uncertain, labignole.fr wishes to take a little step back by putting these two correlated eras. Through leisure, fishing, fashion... curiosity has no limits, we can realize that a form of thinking from this era is not very different from ours, and allows us to bring another look at the information.
