A SKELETON IS DISCOVERED UNDER A PILE OF MANURE
It would be that of a murdered farmer,
Orléans, February 16. Exactly three years ago, on February 28, 1921, Mr. Augustin Coffre, 55 years old, a farmer in Corquilleroy (a small town of a thousand inhabitants located six and a half kilometers from Montargis) went to dinner with his son who lives there. same municipality. Around 10 o'clock in the evening, Mr. Coffre left to return to his home, which was quite distant and isolated. From that moment on, no one ever saw the farmer again: all searches made to find him remained unsuccessful.
However, while turning over a pile of manure in front of his house, another farmer, Mr. S..., discovered this morning the complete skeleton of a man probably buried there for several years. It is assumed that these bones are those of Mr. Coffre, who would have been murdered a few moments after leaving his son's home.
The Montargis public prosecutor's office and the gendarmerie went to the scene, as did Mr. Pascault, divisional commissioner of the mobile brigade.
