We have spoken many times in "L'Éclaireur de Nice" of the prodigious development given in recent years to golf in England and America. The clubs are numbered in the thousands, the players in the hundreds of thousands and the capital spent in these sporting enterprises amounts to several millions... France is more modest, but that does not prevent it from following the movement, and from giving golf the place it deserves among the healthiest exercises... The Côte d'Azur, which receives every winter many sportsmen, can, at the present time, satisfy almost all the requirements of the handlers of "clubs", and the splendid "links" of the Nice-Golf-Club, in particular, are, at this moment, frequented by hundreds of players.
