A photo of the Promenade des Anglais

A Few Hours After the Tornado

Last Monday, a tornado, it is said, passed over part of Nice. Perhaps some newspapers from the North will transform it into a terrible cyclone. And truly, we can forgive the grumpy people who do not live in the most beautiful country in the world. Before taking up their pens, they must blow on their fingers to warm them. A storm on the Côte d'Azur is good news for them. The misfortune of others does not make happiness. He probably contributes to it a little bit.
To tell the truth, for a few minutes we were very moved and... shaken. But the tornado passed like... a gust of wind.
It will have the effect of making us better appreciate the charms of a privileged climate, the caresses of a sun that has taken the habit of spending all its winters in Nice. A faithful guest, he sometimes makes a little excursion outside, he is absent for a day or two. Who will blame him?
The photograph we are reproducing was taken less than 24 hours after the cataclysm on this Promenade des Anglais that the world envies us.
In December, some walkers don't even have an overcoat.
A storm in Nice is a pretty woman's anger. It lasts a minute. Then the rebel thinks that tears suit her very badly. A little powder, a little rouge. Nothing shows any more.
