THE HOOVER MISSION Yesterday, the solemn banquet given by the Union of Soviet Republics in honor of the Ara (American relief administration) took place. Present were: members of the Council of People's Commissars, responsible collaborators of the Ara and American guests, Senator Fall, Sinclair, son of Roosevelt; Kamenev, Chifcherin, Semaschko and Krasin gave speeches. Kameneff greeted the Ara. He read the official address of recognition from the Russian government and people to Hoover, Haskell and all the collaborators of the Ara for the self-sacrifice they demonstrated in their fight against the famine. Very valuable gifts were given to them. Chitcherin signaled the absence of any dissension between the Russian and American people. He expressed the hope that the representatives of the Ara will remain in Russia to prepare the ground for rapprochement between Russia and America. Krassin ended his speech with these words: “We do not say goodbye to you, but goodbye! » In his response, Haskell declared himself deeply touched by the recognition of Russian government, which testifies to the complete agreement existing between the Russian government and people, in their assessment of the activity of the Ara.
