THE HARMFUL EVENTS OF THE STORMExcelsior 1925 07 26 Storms in eastern France have caused casualties

BELFORT, July 25. — Last night, in Vournenans, during a violent thunderstorm that swept through the region, lightning struck a house and set it ablaze.

In Saint-Nabord, a fire destroyed Mr. Constant Thiriat's farm, and in Val-d'Ajol, lightning also destroyed a farm belonging to Mr. Joseph Villemin.

REIMS, July 25. — A violent thunderstorm, the fifth in six days, hit the Reims region, accompanied by a veritable downpour. In the city, many cellars were flooded. In the fields near Vertus, the Gérard Bouche couple, who were harvesting with their staff, were struck by lightning. The husband suffered minor burns, but Mrs. Bouche, aged thirty-six, was killed outright. She was the mother of four children.
