A major industrial push, at the trade fair in Brittany

THE NEXT FAIR AND EXHIBITION IN BRITTANY
AND THE WESTERN REGION
It will be characterized by a significant industrial boost.

The importance of the Western Trade Fair and Exhibition, which will open on April 25 in Rennes, is confirmed every day by the new exhibitor registrations.
There are already 400 exhibitors, and we still have six weeks until the opening.
Of these 400 exhibitors, representing no fewer than 1,500 firms from all regions of France, 90 had not yet participated in our previous Fairs and Exhibitions in Brittany and the Western Region.
It is especially noteworthy that most exhibitors are increasing the size of their stands: some of them who started with 20 square meters will have stands of 200 square meters. Stands measuring 96 square meters will be common, and there will be few small stands.
It is expected that 27,000 square meters of land will be occupied; the entire esplanade at the Champ de Mars is already reserved, and the Place de la Gare can still accommodate a certain number of exhibitors. It should be remembered that last year, the total area was 24,913 square meters; in 1923, it was 19,926; and in 1922, 13,563 square meters.
What will characterize this new and major economic event in 1925 is, in addition to agricultural equipment, an industrial boom as considerable as it is varied. Indeed, this year, we will see a large number of engines, woodworking machines, wood carbonizing kilns, and windmills. Foundries, mining, and construction materials will be widely represented. Organized by Mr. Le Rouzic, the distinguished and very active director of the National School of Agriculture, a special section will be devoted to this great educational and experimental establishment.
From the point of view of agricultural tools and their improvements, our farmers will also find extremely interesting innovations; for example, they will see in operation a device destined to become widespread, the "butyro," which will mechanically replace the churn in butter production. Similarly, mechanical milking of cows using electricity will expand much further than last year, since three houses, instead of one, will be present at the Exposition.
The Committee has anticipated the growing number of visitors. We know, in fact, that compared to 2,145 visitors at the opening Fair, there were 119,220 in 1923 and 151,129 in 1924. Therefore, to avoid overcrowding, it was decided to install 11 turnstiles instead of 8, as last year, on busy days. Special gates will also be reserved for exhibitors and their staff.
